Bandol and Cassis are two of the best wines of Provence. Their vineyards dominate the deep blue Mediterranean Sea and the mere view is breathtaking. The Bandol red, a little severe in its youth, often tastes like a grand cru of Bordeaux after a few years of cellaring. The Cassis white, crisp and harmonious, is a delight with local seafood.
In this tour, we visit one domaine in the morning and two in the afternoon. In each winery, we visit the vineyard, the cellars and we taste 4 or 5 different wines. Our guide Joel Corre, professor of oenology, will teach you the technique of professional wine tasting.
At noon, we have lunch on the terrasse of a Cassis restaurant, near the beach, with a menu of fresh seafood fished at the break of dawn.
According to the availability of the owners, we visit the following domaines, where you can buy wines at the best price of the market:
Pradeaux, Tempier, Pibarnon, Sainte Magdeleine, La Bastide Blanche, La Ferme Blanche.
